Corey has a well-balanced career with experience in accounting and finance, M&A integration work, system implementations and KPI outputs. He strives for process improvement at all levels of an organization through collaborative goal setting with private equity stakeholders that trickles down to all levels of a business. Teamwork and understanding the challenges of all departments in business has helped him succeed in providing clear transparency and efficient processes in fast-paced environments.
I am consistently looking to make people’s jobs easier: through utilizing ERP capabilities and communicating clear job responsibilities to all levels of a business. I have helped develop dashboards within the construction industry, which provided important metrics to company performance. This data could then be drilled down to individual performance for projects – creating transparency to sales, estimators, and operations.
At USI, Inc, Top Build, and Architectural Surfaces, I was on the buy and sell side of over 15 deals. He most recently led the Acquisition Integration Team at Architectural Surfaces. In 2022 they acquired six businesses. I focus on communication and milestone setting for M&A activity. This keeps teams aligned on deadlines and overcoming obstacles in a challenging, fast-paced environment.
At USI, I was a leader on the corporate finance team. This team worked with regional finance leaders across their national footprint in aiding in the month end close process, physical inventories, and financial reporting. Bolstering the accounting data input infrastructure has helped speed up many month-end closes and create clearer more concise backed balance sheets.
Through my drive to continuously look for improvements across all levels of an organization – I have led efforts to change the trajectory of a struggling branch or business. At Split Rail Fence, I was brought on by a private equity group that was looking to utilize a new ERP, reduce inventory, and improve the bottom line. By introducing parallels to budgeting and project costing, estimators could confidently issue competitive bids, and job supervisors could easily see their performance against the estimate. This provided a transparent work environment in which Split Rail Fence began to drive business decisions and change their bottom line from red to black.
