I have performed the day-to-day accounting, general ledger and end-of-period close activities for many clients. This experience has given me a solid base in providing accounting services to my clients. Beginning my career as an external auditor has also given me an advantage to help my clients prepare for their year-end audits.
I often get involved in creating and updating financial reporting packages for clients on a monthly and annual basis. Creating a financial package that fits each individual client’s needs is essential for users to make timely and informed decisions. Included in the monthly preparation is the review of individual line items. My experience with general ledger accounting helps me do a detail review, to gain understanding of any significant variances month-to-month.
One of the first things I do with all my clients is a thorough review of the current policies and procedures in place. By doing this I can get a better understanding of how the processes work and can find any areas for improvement. I enjoy and find personal satisfaction in working with the teams to develop processes that will create efficiencies.
I enjoy utilizing systems to create efficiencies. I have identified and implemented time-saving systems and processes to many clients. In addition, in certain cases efficiencies can be achieved by training the existing team to better utilize the existing systems. This is something I enjoy doing for my clients as it often makes their jobs easier and the results are tangible.
