For several years, it was my responsibility to establish early estimate reporting and review financial results with leadership on behalf of multiple business units - including variance commentary, analysis of KPIs, and various other operational metrics/business highlights. I have also spent a great deal of my career working with developers to build finance and accounting databases and reporting dashboards to enable business peers and leaders a greater level of visibility into their businesses. These tools were used to greatly streamline and automate processes while also providing greater levels of visibility to the business so that meaningful changes could be made operationally. I am hard working and take pride in making a difference for the businesses I support in adding substantial value from the work I delivers.
I am analytically strong and use my aptitude for working with data to my advantage. I am skillful in utilizing the underlying information and presenting it in a meaningful way for others to better understand what needs to be highlighted. I use these skills to make processes substantially more efficient and adds automation wherever possible.
I am a self-diagnosed data nerd. A great deal of my recent career has been focused on creating an all-encompassing Finance/Accounting business intelligence platform. As the finance team’s liaison for the company’s developers, I played an instrumental role in architecting the databases and creating a tool that would aggregate numerous large data sources. In doing so, I found an aptitude for working with database tools such as SQL and SAS. This BI platform was critical and helped substantially automate complex month-end journal entries which also included month-end accruals and eliminations while doing so at a far greater level of detail. In addition, the tool created Key Performance Indicators to distribute in an automatic or on-demand cadence as well as interactive dashboards with visualization tools such as Tableau and PowerBI.
