Matt has over 25 years of progressive finance and accounting experience working with owners and stakeholders to maximize financial performance of underlying businesses. He has been a CFO for multiple middle market businesses and assisted ownership with successfully closing majority sales to private equity and strategic investors. Matt also has a strong understanding of post-acquisition integration and providing strategic financial direction to management. Whether improving financial controls, assessing costs, forecasting/ modeling, considering tax implications of key decisions, Matt is a hands-on team player dedicated to the financial success of his clients.

Financial Reporting and Key Business Metrics

I have always enjoyed assisting ownership with improving business performance by enhancing existing financial reporting. Identifying key financial metrics to better measure business performance has been critical in improving profitability. Successfully linking compensation arrangements to key growth drivers will also provide a significant impact on performance. I have always been able to help management teams better understand and use this information and identify key areas of focus.

M&A, Pre and Post-Acquisition Integration

Understanding the M&A process from beginning to end is key. I have extensive experience preparing business financial records and ownership for sale as well as assisting ownership in negotiating deal contracts. Additionally, I have also handled post-acquisition integration and preparing robust reporting structures to comply with lenders, PE investors and periodic reporting for management. I have also handled purchase accounting and related tax considerations. My experience will assist with successfully navigating the complexities of business combinations.

Gross Margins, Inventory & Cost Management

Manufacturing, import, and product-based companies all require strong costing and inventory structures in place in order to properly manage and improve gross margins. Understanding global supply chains, production tax credits, tariffs and foreign currency exposures all impact margins. I have assisted businesses improve standard costs systems, better evaluate production variances as well as create activity-based costing models to better evaluate margins.
